SEA Support services are recruiting Waking Watch Support Workers to work with deaf clients.

What does the role involve?
You will provide overnight (waking) support and reassurance for clients living independently in their own homes. Tasks will vary depending on the individual’s support needs and may include:

Assisting with mobility, communication, and safety during the night

Supporting personal care routines

Monitoring well-being and alerting on-call services if necessary

Promoting a calm and supportive overnight environment
BSL skills are not needed as full training can be provided and a positive attitude to working with D/deaf Adults and children.

- Salary Range: £14.60-£14.86 per hour
- Hours of work: 10pm–8am. Full-time and part-time applications are welcome.

Due to rapid expansion of our services we now require Support Workers.
The role
As a Waking Watch Support Worker, you will provide overnight support and reassurance to clients who live independently in their own homes. Your presence will help ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Depending on each individual’s needs, your duties may include assisting with mobility and communication, supporting personal care routines if required, monitoring well-being, and contacting on-call services when necessary. A key part of the role is promoting a calm and supportive overnight environment that helps clients feel secure and respected.
The ideal candidate will have:
– Proven experience as a support worker and ability to work as part of an established team.
– NVQ Level 2 in Social Care (Training can be provided)
– Deaf aware and a good understanding of individual communication needs.
– Demonstrate empathy and understanding of person centred support
– British Sign Language Level 1 or above (Training can be provided)
